let'S SHOW them that WE CARE
our elderly
By 2030, 1.4 billion people in the world will be aged 60 years or over. Every country in the world is experiencing growth in both the size and the proportion of older persons in the population. The question is, are our societies, our communities, our cities, our people ready for this demographic switch to take care of our elderly.
Our elderly along with physical and mental health issues are dealing with social isolation and loneliness resulting from lack of time commitment from young and adults. Our young on the other hand are going through their own challenges. With technological advancement and social media our young population is to some extent getting deprived of social cues they would otherwise learn from in-person communication. This is causing behaviour like anxiety, insecurity and isolation. So essentially both elderly and young are going through their own tough journeys.
What better way than to bring both the elderly and young together to support each other.
Our MISSION
Our Mission is two fold
First, to educate our younger population about ageing , related challenges and show them ways on how they can contribute to help the elderly, be it in their own homes or in their neighborhood to reduce social isolation and loneliness.
Second, build a network of volunteers that feel for the cause and can connect on a regular basis with elderly living alone or living in old age homes to reduce social isolation and
loneliness.
oUR vISION
A society which has a younger population that understands ageing and is instrumental in creating their homes, their neighborhoods and their communities to be ageing friendly. A younger population, that while working on their career goals, also contributes to solving elderly social isolation and loneliness.
how are we making this happen?
support
We have a team of young volunteers that have made it their mission to spend an hour a week connecting with elderlies at old age homes. As part of this program we ensure each volunteer spends time with the same elderlies every week. This is helping develop connection. It is fulfilling experience for both.

Let's come together to say we care

We have launched first phase of this program in Dec 2023 starting with Dehradun, India as our pilot location. Founders were the first volunteers working on the ground. If you feel for the cause and want to volunteer either to support elderly at Old age home (Time commitment is just one hour a week) or interested in volunteering as a faculty for running student awareness sessions please reach out to us.
You can also reach out to us if you are an educational institution and would like us to conduct awareness sessions for your students. An awareness session is typically for 30-45 minutes.
If you are a school and would like us to discuss how Elderly Support Club can help students at your school please reach out to us and will love to work with you.
